At many points in our lives, we struggle to cope with stress and specific hardships. Sometimes these difficulties can be conquered alone or with the assistance of friends and family. But other times these challenges require an outside perspective, someone trained and experienced in listening, supporting, and counseling individuals through life’s more serious problems.
For children and teenagers, a lack of coping skills leads to poor choices and serious familial, social, academic, or legal struggles. This downward spiral does not have to continue.
As adults we have managed to persevere through our adolescence, but is there something holding us back? Are we unhappy with a relationship, or seeking a better version of ourselves?
Education and experience have taught me how cognitive thought processes, communication-styles, and patterns of behavior impact our day-to-day happiness and success. Proper reflection often enables a balance of these key ingredients and is a major focus of a counseling effort.
My name is Stacie Martinez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I have functioned as an individual therapist, group therapist, school counselor, and case manager. I have been working with children, teenagers, and adults of all backgrounds for the past 10 years to better manage problems, learn more effective strategies to cope with stress and anxiety, and to deal with specific issues such as: Anger, Self-Esteem, Communication, Depression, Parenting, and Impulse-Control.
Let’s begin tackling these issues together, step-by-step!
You have taken the time to contemplate making a change in your life or the life of a loved one, and I thank you for considering me a partner in this endeavor.
